SS-31 (Elamipretide) · 10mg
A mitochondria-targeting tetrapeptide researched for cardiolipin biology and mitochondrial function.
- Research focus: mitochondrial membranes, cardiolipin, bioenergetics
- Evidence: extensive translational research and human clinical development
- Format: research vial
What is SS-31?
SS-31, also known as elamipretide, is a four-residue peptide designed to interact with cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane.
What has it been studied for?
Research has examined mitochondrial function across multiple disease models. Human trials have included Barth syndrome and several other mitochondrial or cardiovascular conditions.
Is elamipretide an approved medicine?
In 2025 the FDA granted accelerated approval to Forzinity, an elamipretide hydrochloride injection, for a narrow Barth-syndrome indication. A research SS-31 vial is not that prescription product.
